Ministry of Science launches “science on stage” ideas competition

As part of the white paper process on research in public scientific institutions in the Free State of Saxony, the Saxon Ministry of Science is launching an ideas competition.

Under the label "science on stage - clear the stage for science", researchers are looking for original and creative solutions, impulses and suggestions for central fields of action of a future-oriented research policy in the Free State of Saxony.

The competition is part of a broad-based participation of the scientific community, which aims to let all actors participate in the strategy process and thus to actively help shape Saxon research policy of the future.

These are the key areas for which fresh, innovative ideas are needed:
– Increase the visibility and networking of research institutions
– Encourage inter- and transdisciplinarity as well as transsectoral research
– Strengthen transfer events
– Advance internationalization

Contributions and concepts can be submitted in a wide variety of formats, e.g. B. as text, presentation, video, audio or graphics.

After reviewing the proposals, the participants will be invited to a workshop in the second quarter of 2. There is an opportunity to present the ideas and to discuss them with experts in the respective field of action. The final selection is then made by a jury.

Science Minister Sebastian Gemkow calls for participation:
»The best way to achieve good further development of Saxon research policy is to have those who are to benefit from it join the discussion. I cordially invite everyone to get actively involved.«

The most original ideas will be invited to a panel discussion with Minister Gemkow, among others, at the closing event of the White Paper strategy process in Dresden in November.

All interested scientists, especially from the field of young academics, can take part via the participation portal of the Free State of Saxony.

The competition will be held in two languages. Submissions are possible until March 17.03.2023, XNUMX.
