Online event: Closing event of the innovation forum "Gamification for medical and health technology" from 15.-18. June 2021

Since March 2020, tti Technologietransfer und Innovationsförderung Magdeburg GmbH (tti) has been working together with partners from the fields of game and software development, education, medicine and health care and medical technology on practical application concepts in the field of "gamification for medical and health technology". The aim was to initiate the implementation of specific preventive or therapeutic gamified solutions in order to contribute to the success of treatments in the medical fields of neuroscience, cardiology and gastroenterology, to positively influence the use of medical devices or to develop them as independent medical devices. In preparatory workshops, various gamification project ideas were generated, market access strategies for gamified applications were compiled and questions about financing were answered.

The results achieved will be presented as part of the online closing event from 15-18. June 2021 will be presented and processed. The first and last day each address a broad audience, while the second and third day are aimed at a group of participants who are actively and creatively involved and who would like to be involved in the implementation of products in the future. A central online event with networking opportunities will take place on June 15, 2021 from 13:00 p.m. In addition to explanations of what gamification means for the medical and healthcare industry, successful gamification applications will be presented and the associated process of certification as a medical device will be discussed. At the end of the first day, the previous project ideas are presented.
Interactive formats are the focus of June 16th and 17th. Here, separate hackathons project ideas from three selected core topics are to be continued to the extent that realizable gamification applications are created. For effective processing, the hackathons are managed by a core team, supported with the help of other partner organizations and accompanied by medical experts.

The conclusion of the event on June 18th at 10:00 a.m. is again aimed at a broad audience. The results of the hackathon will be presented here. In this way, concrete implementations are to be initiated by clarifying essential technical questions, both from a medical and from a gamified point of view. This is supported by a presentation of financing options as an essential building block for future cooperation between various partners and for the rapid attainment of market-ready products.

We invite all companies, public organizations and research institutions that:

  • are interested in the topic of gamification,
  • work in the field yourself or
  • are looking for new projects and products,
